In these pictures, taken at Tintern Abbey and the surrounding area, my aim was to create distance and obscurity. I wanted to capture the dominion that lost time holds over this particular setting. Using black and white film I hoped to remove the familiarity of the present and leave the viewer drifting and unsettled. The sense of movement in each of the images I felt was important to make this straying more tangible.
